Typed script for a comedy burlesque entitled "Twelve Just Men", originally written by Chaplin around 1915 and whose rights were subsequently purchased by Ernest Lotinga in 1932, sixteen pages in brown wrappers, label reading "Script by Charlie Chaplin entitled Twelve Just Men", closed tear to front wrapper, 4to, [c.1930s]
***Comedian Ernest Lotinga bought the sketch from Chaplin for £5 and then forgot about it until 1932 when he announced that he would produce it. Lotinga refused Chaplin's offer to buy the sketch back and proposed that he and Chaplin should go into partnership in the production with Chaplin playing a part in the sketch. Chaplin declined the invitation and although Lotinga claimed he'd produce the sketch himself, no more was heard of it. In a letter to Chaplin, currently held in the Charlie Chaplin Archive, Lotinga says "I would like to ask your permission to change the title as I am not impressed by the same", 20 May 1926. 27 x 22cm

Extremely scarce photograph of a young Hayworth from very early in her career, signed and inscribed in black ink "To Walter Kolarik, Sincerely Rita Cansino", in very good condition, 5 x 7".
***Rita Cansino changed her name to Hayworth after signing with Columbia Pictures. Studio head Harry Cohn argued that her image was too Mediterranean, which limited her to being cast in "exotic" roles that were fewer in number. He was heard to say her last name sounded too Spanish. Rita Cansino became Rita Hayworth when she adopted her mother's maiden name. She also changed her hair color to ginger red hair and had electrolysis to raise her hairline and broaden the appearance of her forehead.
